In II Thessalonians 2:10 our Apostle Paul tells us that those who perish when Jesus Christ comes back to earth will perish because they “received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
In II Thessalonians 1:7-8 Paul tells us that “the Lord Jesus Christ shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Paul writes of obeying the truth of the gospel in Galatians 3:1 where he says “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?”
In Galatians 3:6 Paul writes “Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Paul warned the Galatians that righteousness for them comes not through anything that they might do, but through believing only in what Christ accomplished on the cross.
Our gospel (good news) recorded in I Corinthians 15:1-4 is that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. In verse 2 Paul tells us that we are saved when we believe the gospel.
In II Corinthians 5:18-21 Paul tells us of reconciliation with God, and how we have been reconciled to God through the death of God the Son.
II Corinthians 5:18-21
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
In the verses above, we see that those who reconcile themselves to God by believing the gospel of the grace of God have been given the Ministry of Reconciliation. Reconciliation means that we have “restored fellowship” with God. It is through the death of Jesus Christ that we have the forgiveness of our sins and the restoration of fellowship with God the Father.
We that are saved are called to be “ambassadors for Christ,” and share with the entire world that everyone has been reconciled to God the Father through the death of God the Son. We are told that God the Father made Jesus Christ to be sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ.
Jesus Christ was sinless and He hated sin, yet he took upon Himself the sins of the entire world so that our fellowship with God could be restored. We can be reconciled to God and have eternal life in heaven with Jesus Christ when we believe in and accept Christ’s sacrifice for us.
We have received the love of the truth when we believe in and accept Christ’s sacrifice for us. When we believe in and accept Christ’s sacrifice for us we have been reconciled to God.
Please receive the love of the truth and believe the gospel of the grace of God, thereby receiving eternal life. Please share the gospel with your family and friends so that they too can receive the love of the truth and have eternal life.
