While Jesus Christ was on the earth He made several prophesies. Some of these prophesies were fulfilled while He lived, while others were fulfilled after His death. There is one prophesy that God has paused and will later fulfill.
Prophesy Of The Eternal Earthly Kingdom
In Mark 16:15-16 Jesus commanded the eleven to go into the all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Jesus said that those who believe the gospel and are baptized will be saved, but those who do not believe will be damned.
Mark 16:15-16
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
In Matthew 24:14 Jesus Christ prophesied that the gospel (good news) of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then the end will come. In this verse, Jesus Christ is referring to the gospel of the kingdom being preached during the Tribulation.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The Gospel Of The Kingdom
The gospel of the kingdom, is the gospel (good news) that God will give the children of Israel an eternal earthly kingdom. When Jesus was on earth He preached this gospel, as did Peter and the 11.
In Daniel 2:44 the prophet Daniel foretold of the future eternal earthly kingdom that God will set up which will consume all other kingdoms (nations).
Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
In Luke 1:26-35 the angel Gabriel speaks to Mary and tells her that she will give birth to the Son of God and that she will call Him Jesus. Gabriel tells Mary that Jesus will sit on the throne of David, that He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and His Kingdom will be eternal.
Luke 1:26-35
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
God Paused Prophesy And Gave Us The Gospel
When Stephen was stoned to death, God paused the prophetic program of the eternal earthly kingdom. In Acts 7:52-60 Stephen tells the Jewish Council that their fathers had killed the prophets that prophesied of the coming “Just One” Jesus Christ and that they betrayed and murdered Him. Jesus Himself spoke of this when He spoke the parable of the “Wicked Tenants of the Vineyard,” recorded in Matthew 21:33-46, Mark 12:1-12 and Luke 20:9-19. In this parable, Jesus speaks of His own death.
In Acts 7:56 we are told of Stephen seeing Jesus standing on the “right hand of God.” In this verse, Jesus was standing ready to pour out judgment on the nation of Israel.
Acts 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
The Jewish council became enraged and cast Stephen out of the city, stoning him to death. Stephen’s death paused the kingdom prophetic program and God’s vengeance and wrath foretold in Luke 21:22-24 of the Tribulation to come upon Israel.
Luke 21:22-24
22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
The Gospel Of The Grace of God
In Acts Chapter 9 we are told that Paul is chosen by God to preach the gospel of the grace of God. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:19-20 that he was given the “mystery of the gospel” to preach. The mysteries given to Paul were revelations from Jesus Christ that had not been prophesied of.
Ephesians 6:19-20
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Those saved by belief of the gospel of the grace of God will have their own resurrection and judgment day. They will be saved by their belief in the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. The resurrection is known as the Rapture Resurrection and the saved will stand before The Judgment Seat of Christ. This judgment day is a judgment of rewards only.
The Gospel Of The Kingdom Will Be Preached Once Again
The gospel of the kingdom will be preached during the Tribulation by the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation Chapter 7. These 144,000 come from the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
The gospel of the kingdom will have its own resurrection day and judgment day. The resurrection is known as The First Resurrection. The judgment that will take place is known as The Judgment of the Sheep and the Goats, and will take place on The Throne of His Glory. Those that are saved believe Jesus Christ to be their Messiah, King and the Son of God. This judgment will take place in Jerusalem at the end of the Tribulation.
Prophesy Will Be Fulfilled
The prophesy of an eternal earthly kingdom with Jesus Christ sitting on the throne as King will be fulfilled. Jesus Christ will begin His reign as King, beginning with the Millennial Kingdom. Here, Jesus Christ will reign for 1000 years.
Those that will be a part of this kingdom are all those saved from the prophetic program (all saved from the past) prior to the dispensation of the grace of God, and those who will be martyrs during the Tribulation by their belief of the gospel of the kingdom which will be preached during the Tribulation.
At the close of the Millennial Kingdom, the eternal earthly kingdom will start. It will be established on the new earth, thereby fulfilling the prophesy of the eternal earthly kingdom.
