When we “rightly divide the word of truth,” we see that those saved under the gospel of the grace of God will be provided a heavenly abode, and those saved under the gospel of the kingdom will be given a home on earth.
Those In Heaven
We are saved through our belief of the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as promised in I Corinthians 15:1-4. In Philippians 3:20-21 we see that our conversation (citizenship) is in heaven.
Philippians 3:20-21
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Paul tells us that we will be judging angels in heaven.
I Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
Question:
Isn’t it comforting to know where you are going and what you will be doing when you get there?
Those On Earth
Those who are saved under the gospel of the kingdom will be given a home on earth. Those saved under this gospel include the Old Testament saints saved before the gospel of the grace of God and those saved during the coming Tribulation.
The Jews saved under this gospel will be given the positions of priests and kings. These priests and kings will rule over and be mediators between God and the Gentiles who are saved under this gospel.
In Revelation 1:5-6 John tells the Jews that were of the seven churches of Asia that God hath made them priests and kings.
Revelation 1:5-6
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Jesus Christ will rule on His eternal throne, starting with the Millennial Kingdom.
In Matthew 19:28 Jesus Christ tells of Himself sitting upon The Throne of His Glory and of His twelve apostles sitting upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Matthew 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
