Angels Minister To The Saved

In the Bible, God makes promises to those who are His children and who will inherit eternal salvation. One of the promises that God makes is that His angels are ministering spirits that have been sent forth to minister to those who will inherit salvation. We see this promise in Hebrews chapter 1.

In Hebrews 1:7 we are told that God made the angels to be spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

In Hebrews 1:13-14 we are told that the angels are ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them that will inherit eternal salvation.

Hebrews 1:13-14

13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

We are saved and heirs of salvation by our belief of the gospel of the grace of God recorded in I Corinthians 15:1-4.

I Corinthians 15:1-4

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

In Romans chapter 8 our Apostle Paul speaks of the fact that there is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.

In Romans 8:16-17 Paul tells us that God’s Holy Spirit bears witness to our spirit that we are children of God and heirs of salvation.

Romans 8:16-17

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

The Bible verses listed above confirm that as saved members of the “body of Christ” that we are children of God and heirs of salvation, and that we do have angels that minister for us. As such, this is one promise of many that God has given to us.

Promises From God

As members of the “body of Christ,” we are saved eternally.

As members of the “body of Christ,” we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

As members of the “body of Christ,” we are sealed by the Holy Spirit until we are redeemed by Jesus Christ.

As members of the “body of Christ,” God has provided angels to minister for us.

Called To Be Ambassadors For Christ

As we can clearly see, our belief of the gospel of the grace of God gives us so much. So what does God ask from us in return?

In II Corinthians 5:17-21 we are told that we are called to be ambassadors for Christ and share the Ministry of Reconciliation.

II Corinthians 5:17-21

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Summary

Jesus Christ took the sins of the world upon Himself through His death upon the cross.
Therefore God is not imputing (not crediting) our sins to us. The Ministry of Reconciliation is the ministry by which we as members of the “body of Christ explain to others how that God has reconciled the world unto Himself by the death of Jesus Christ upon the cross. We are to explain to others that we become reconciled to God by our belief that Christ died for our sins; and that he was buried, and that he rose again (I Corinthians 15:1-4).
