The Holy Ghost Spoke To the Church In Antioch
We see in The Book of Acts where the Holy Ghost spoke to the church at Antioch. There were certain prophets and teachers at this church. The Holy Ghost spoke and said to this assembly:
“Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”
In Acts 13:1-4 we are told of this event.
Acts 13:1-4
1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
The Holy Ghost Spoke To Paul
We see in Acts Chapter 16 where the Holy Ghost spoke to Paul to tell him that he was not to go to Asia to preach the gospel.
Acts 16:6-8
6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
8 And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
Also, in Acts Chapter 20 we see where Paul speaks of of being told by the Holy Ghost (in city after city) that bonds (jail) and afflictions await him. Paul speaks of being being drawn by the Holy Ghost to Jerusalem, but that he has not been told by the Holy Ghost what fate awaits him there.
Acts 20:22-24
22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Above, in verse 24, Paul tells us that none of what will happen to him matters, nor does he value his life, other than to finish the ministry of preaching the gospel of the grace of God. This gospel is explained to us in I Corinthians 15:1-4. It is by our faith in this gospel, that we are saved.
I Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
